Drawn in thread
On fabric stretched across a frame, a botanical pattern becomes embroidery. The needle follows each curve; layers of thread give the motif its shape.
HAND BEADING

Each bead is stitched individually by hand. Layered florals take shape slowly, their surfaces catching the light with every movement.

A finished garment brings together the time of many hands. The Daria-i-Noor Sherwani represents approximately 3,500 artisan hours; the Kohinoor Kimono, approximately 3,000.

The Golden K
A private signature.
A K embroidered in 22-karat gold zardozi is concealed within every KUMARI garment. Worked by the senior artisan, it is a signature known to its wearer.
Its inspiration lies in founder Amy M. Mali’s wedding mehndi, where letters of her husband’s name were hidden among intricate henna patterns for him to find.
KUMARI carries that memory into its embroidery. The Golden K invites the same pleasure of discovery.
