I · The drawing

The first lines.

A silhouette, a floral motif, a palette of blush, mauve and gold. The idea takes shape on paper.

II · The cloth

Before the
first stitch.

The starting point is plain illusion tulle, chosen for its lightness and transparency. Hand-dyed to a soft blush pink, it becomes the ground for the embroidery.

III · The motif

The garden
is mapped.

The floral drawing is transferred to the unembellished tulle. Each stem, leaf and blossom finds its place before the handwork begins.

IV · On the frame

From line to stitch.

Held taut in an embroidery frame, the tulle is worked by hand. The drawn motif becomes a surface of thread, beads and sequins.

The beadwork

A flower, bead by bead.

Each bead is stitched individually. The blossoms gain depth; the sheer ground remains visible between them.

V · The finish

To the
last bead.

Beading follows the neckline and sleeves. Sequined tassels complete the kaftan, carrying the ornament to its smallest details.
